ALL ABOUT HCS

The FOUNDATION STONES of

Heritage Covenant Schools

The enrollment policy of HCS is not exclusive. We do not turn away any family who does not agree with the following “foundation stones.” Rather, it is important that those who wish to utilize the services of Heritage Covenant understand the three concepts by which all administrative decisions are made.

HCS PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

In the Bible, God enjoins parents: And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart, You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NKJV)
We understand that education is primarily a religious exercise and as such, educational decisions must come under the jurisdiction of the family. Education is the responsibility of neither the state nor the church. The state and the church should only assist in the process of education.

STATEMENT OF BIBLICAL TRUTH

We affirm that the God-inspired, inerrant Bible is the only absolute, objective, final test for all truth claims, and the clearest verbal picture of reality that has ever come into the hands of mankind. By it, and it alone, are all philosophies, books, values, actions, and plans to be measured as to their consistency with reality, visible and invisible. Whatever statements and values are in opposition to the statements and values of the Bible err to the degree of their opposition.

APOSTLES CREED

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the Communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
